That -really- depends. If people actually have a decent knowledge of drawing people in real form then they can pull off chibi forms as a side thing. Case in point- Capcom and their chibi Phoenix/Maya/Edgey etc. However when people start using it as an excuse for style, that's a no-no :|

I hate it when it becomes the primary style of drawing. I don't mind when people like *Keysha-chan do it, cause she puts a TONE of effort and thought into hers, and alot of it is commission, but I'm just seeing SO many around the place- it's become a cheap art form to some. It's like a fandom. In moderation please!! Less chibis moar arts!! I want something I can look at. Not a chibi doing a cheap pose!

No option above for me to choose. I don't hate them but I don't love them greatly either. It really depends on the context they are placed in. I think they're great when they're used as guides for say a "Science" segment of a show like many 80s-90s anime had(and some still do!) Those tended to be fun and light hearted (even if they were dealing with serious subjects).

For me the thing that irks me the most is when people keep adding mimi (ears) to just about every character they can get their hands on. The pro's are just as guilty of this as the fans.
It justs gets so old fast. :bored:

Sorry for the rant! ^^;

No, I hear you. Chibis are becoming cheap favs. I'm pretty much over them now days. I switch off whenever someone posts a chibi now.

Yeah, chibis more the kind of thing I draw to vent when I have an art block and struggle to draw properly. It's fun, and you can make the features look clear-ish, but of course it's no bearing on the actual human figure, just a bit of fun. However, doesn't mean I'll turn to drawing them nonstop. Have to keep up the proper drawing, too. (Less reading more doing.. I've been doing that for the faces thusfar, but I tend to trail off. Tangent alert! *pistolwhip'd*)
