Friday

Well, the fun all started Friday for me, where Phill (Or Mority as he is on the GNC forums) came around to our anime night and hung out with us. Me, Adam, Vicky, Damien and him all watched a heap of dvds and snacked out. Great fun ^^ I fell asleep a little early though cause I've been zeroed out from all the stress this whole week >.<

Saturday- THE CON!

Ok- the actual interesting stuff. So I had to take the 13" subwoofer out of my car cause I have no boot space for my gear, let alone everyone elses before Me, Phill and Adam go and pick up =Rinree and her brother for the con. Interesting drive. She lives in a number on the street that doesn't match the opposite side of the road for like... a kilometer T.T Anyways, we rushed to town to the Mercure hotel, lugged our gear out so Adam could find my car a car park spot for us so we didn't miss the exhibitor photo shoot, and get ready.

We made it. I think my hair was on sideways in the photo though- I didn't have my hair on when I arrived >.> (I hope I don't look too bad XD)

So, we set up, and I found I was crapped beside a whole heap of Gundam or some mecha assembly boxes. I was like... huh? Oh, and I forgot to bring the folder with all my poster prices and stuff. I fail at cons XD So, for the first half of the con, I made nothing. No money. Nadda After a VERY strong coffee, I decided to take drastic measures and do a bit of shopping. After a while, people figured out who I was cosplaying (It's an obscure costume It's ok. You need to play PW3 to know it ), I was asked to yell OBJECTION for the camera so often XD I donno if I sold anythign through that attention, but the gundam boxes lowered down a bit, and I eventually started selling a heap of my new Zeth posters SO happy about that ^^ He got alot of compliments too. I think I sold about 8 posters, and 2 sets of Final Sunset in 3 part format, and a commission of Jem for ~Lyssasoulless [link] . There was a heap of events going on during the con... I didn't see many of them cause I was exhibiting, but it was very exciting. ~Triggerman , who brought a phenomenal amount of stock broke even and even started giving away alot of art during the end of the con (*o* He gave away so much stuff!!), and I know that there's some people that had done really well during the con ^^

Profits for me were quite low this year... I made $78 which didn't cover my printing and stall costs, but I'm ok with that. I have ALOT of gear to sell at Armageddon in October, and that'll cover it nicely ^^ (Unless I do some crazy promotion which I will... My Godot one... XD )

Night and day- by ~aKiRa-666 . OMG. A comic can not get any better in my eyes- Hawt art, Hawt story, and omgs- even shounen-ai *u* SO worth it!
Tales from the Flat- by ~D-Type . Not read it yey. I'll do a review when I have ^^ Got this little picture from him for free too [link] ^^ She's cute ^^
ENGAGE- by ~Hiyaku-Studio . The art was cool, and dynamic and stuff, but damn- I didn't know any of the things they were from and I never caught up when reading If I was a fan of the things the 4 of them did doujin on, I think I'd like it more.
Twisted- by =Rinree and ~Vendicare . Really liked the art, and even though the storyline started off slow, it was fun when it picked up, and I love the manga feel it has ^^ Chibis and all
Storm- by =Rinree and Rebecca. Not read it yet. Will review when I have ^^
Devil Bats- by ~laclillac . Cool art, lots of boobez, funky demonic sensorship (XD) so it was worth the purchase- I wish it was a little longer though- Was over an done with in 9 pages I want more T.T
~Triggerman 's art book. I don't buy art books, but this one was given to me for free, and I've found since looking at it that I'd be more than happy to pay for it. Paolo did an awesome job compiling it! I really liked the WIP section where he wrote about how he does his art ^^
Job Hunt- by Takera [link] Not read it yet
Budjinshi- by *Go-Devil-Dante and *felisdeityus . For a cheaply made comic, this thing rocked me- for $2, you get a quirky sketch on the cover and a really fun comic. Normally I'd burn something that was budget, but damn. It sorta suits this comic XD 3 fandoms with a heap of crack 1 pagers XD Awesome!
Footnote II- By *Go-Devil-Dante and *smilyimp . I didn't know some characters in it, and it was a bit on the high end for a comic, but damn it. It was magical. I love crack comics >u<. I swear, anything GDD touches turns gold. AND I FINALLY MET YOU! I KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! I... but I'll keep it secret. Unless someone offers me pronz for your identity... I might have to let it slip then >.>

T.T I do feel like a bit of a tight ass now though- there was ALOT of free stuff. Never really happened before this year now BAM! I feel a little bad that I don't have any free stuff myself, but I donno- I don't think my art has enogh magic in it to sell better with freebees. Urgh... anyways. Carrying on...

Just remembered- in the eventual loot bag, I am getting two extra posters- ~Triggerman said he'd print me a large one of these, And Xander is gonna print me one of these

And omg- glompage to ~asrafrate before I forget!! She's so lovely ^^

damn- I met so many people, punter and all in that one day period- it was incredible.

The after dinner was a cracker too. Despite that there was heinous amounts of rain trying to kill our art, we managed to get to a little Japanese restaurant in town to have tea. It was great to hang out with everyone again XD conversations and stuff were great- of corse we all digressed to yaoi (80% of the people there were rabid yaoi fangirls. Myself included XD ), and suddenly hell broke out when the takoyaki were compared with balls.. like... the naughty kinda XD *dies* Specially when ~Triggerman and Phill started ordering them on mass and licking the sauce off them XD *falls off chair in laughter* GAH! Doujin Overload has been tainted yaoi coloured!! *u* Oh man- you all had to be there. The GNC forums are a riot of yaoi talk now XD

Thank you so much everyone who was there and came said hi, to those that exhibited, those that cosplayed, and specially to the GNC guys that organised it all. The con is exponentially getting better every year. It was SUCH a fun time ^^
