My first ever commission for more than $20 ^^ Yays!
Well- despite me being horrendously sick for the past 2 weeks (with the wrong medication to boot T.T) and Other general life hold ups that seem to be going on, I managed to sketch this up on my 2 hour train ride to Papatoetoe to have tea with my boyfriend and co (this is 2 hours including waiting for my second train- which was late)
Not knowing alot about the personalities of he characters made it a little difficult, but Glen gave me some elements to play with. I gave it about 10 tries (cursing and swearing that I can't draw women...) before settling on this design which he's also happy with.
So we have the embrace in the middle there with sorrow, framed half by the pentagram, and half by his wings (she has wings too, but his cover them >.> I didn't see her having wings as terribly important). This picture is meant to be a pencil + colour pic, but we'll see. I may stop at the pencil if I don't think colour will do it justice. At the moment, I can't see how colour would improve it much. That may change though

She is unconscious- It's not apparent yet cause I haven't *injured* her, but they're in kind of a warish world. I don't know the whole story- it's the impression I get from his description
I draw wings the same way I draw humans- skeleton/skin first, then I flesh it out- that's why it looks a little creepy. I assure you that it's only in the sketch stage that it's like this. It makes more sense mechanically.
Good to hear that my 1/2 hour on the girl's face paid off
Depends on what 'challenge' means to you. Does it mean a conceptual challenge? Or are you wanting me to draw something like a dog or a cat or something I don't normally draw? I can do commissions
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

So Im into comics (DC comics mostly)
I'll challenge you to do a sexy catwoman.
your choice on style and concept, but full colour and detail.
Just a question tho, do you work with pencils and paper or the computer?
I'd rather have the original to hang on the wall. I'd accept if you charge a bit for postage this way. let me know
